Being Black and British not only means the obvious, it also connotes style, innovation, trendsetting, urban; a definition that has had an tremendous impact on British fashion, music, literature, media, sports, business, government and virtually every aspect of modern British society and culture.
The name “Black Brits USA.” expresses the full sentiment of the company’s goals and objectives. The main goal is to provide information while illuminating and creating a reflective portrayal of Black British life for the residents in the UK and the growing number of residents in the USA . Black Brits USA provides a forum for the dynamic Black British community.
FOUNDER
Michelle McKoy, Founder and Managing Director
A UK citizen currently residing in the USA , Michelle has extensive experience in marketing, public relations and communications, and has worked predominantly within the UK media and entertainment industry. Her Post Graduate degree in Advertising and Public Relations from Florida International University has enabled her to work on a freelance basis, networking with the movers and shakers of Miami prior to founding Black Brits USA. Graduating with honors, she holds a BA in Contemporary Media Practices from the University of Westminster , in London .
McKoy has lived in South Florida for 5 years.
MISSION
Black Brits USA seeks to unite expatriates through an interactive online community while providing updated information about issues and concerns of importance to the Black British community in the USA and the U.K.
To create a recognized forum for networking, business and information for Black British people in national and international market.
Support and provide information on Sickle Cell Anemia Research. Sickle Cell Anemia mainly affects people of African, Caribbean, Indian, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern descent.
